Administrative Assistant Reviews
What is it like working as an Administrative Assistant?
August 2015
Not my dream job.
Administrative Assistant:
Pros: I like my boss and the people I work with. I like when I can complete a task well and accomplish my to do list. I like taking initiave and problem solving. I like feeling needed and essential.
Cons: I don't like being someone's assistant. I don't feel like I have the opportunity for growth. I don't feel like the expert at what I do. Ian not a corporate America kind of person. Cubicles are hard for me to work in.

Connections over Diligence.
Administrative Assistant:
Being diligent isn't always the way to get ahead in your workplace. Sometimes it's more about your connections with people within the company. If you are favorable to the right person(s), then you have a better chance of getting ahead. I've overachieved at my job for 6 years, and they refuse to promote me or give me a much deserved raise. It's hard getting what you deserve as an admin in a company because they are more focused on compensating their sales teams.
