Administrative Assistant Reviews

What is it like working as an Administrative Assistant?

July 2015
A few things to think about to avoid potential admin issues.
Administrative Assistant:
There will always be other peoples demands crashing down on you, as it is the nature of this role to assist others. At the same time this can result in chronic emergencies pulling your priorities out of alignment. It can be difficult not to take on too many projects or set boundaries and create realistic time frames for others but remembering that you can please everyone and picking your battles will make you and those you admin for happier in the long run than just saying yes to everything in the moment. Try to find a positive/kind/tactful way to train/not enable people who chronically give you rush projects (that could've been avoided / should have been assigned sooner etc). Also I think waiting to change or tweek processes/procedures/etc until you know your role is generally a good idea. (When you are new employee at a company, resist the urge to do things "your way" until you have mastered the position and know exactly what you may be affecting.)
