The nurse is the front line of patient care in a hospital. They interact with the patient most frequently, and they are usually the first to know if something has gone wrong. Though a nurse will have rounds that require them to attend to many patients in a given day, they get to know the patients closely. They are a liaison between the provider and the patient, as well as an immediate caregiver.
