In pharmacy, it's good to perfect what you know, but don't be afraid to switch companies or toles every 2 to 3 years. Technicians who do this tend to make 50% more over the course of their lifetime. You will pick up additional skills to make you valuable and while you might get a 2 to 3% raise each year with your employer, you could get 8-10% or more by switching jobs.

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) in Plainfield:
"Is there a CphT job bubble?"
In my profession, I find a lot of new certified techs looking for work. There also seems to be a lot of new schools offering certification programs than ever, as I was once approached to instruct one. I turned it down, since it truly should be taught by a Pharmacist, in my opinion. I realized then it was about the money. Pump as many out of classes in a hurry at the least cost to the training company. While there are very talented Techs who could teach the class, the National exam is based on more knowledge of a Pharmacist. Let's face it, you are the main right hand of the Pharmacist. That being said, where are the jobs? Why is this field not growing like once predicted by "experts"? What are all these people doing since they have spent time and money for these classes and still have to spend more money for continued education to keep their certification? Before signing up for a class, make sure it is accredited and they have job assistance with a high placement rating.
