Chemical Dependency Professional Advice

Q: What is it like working as a Chemical Dependency Professional?

Chemical Dependency Professional in Seattle:
"How new the field is."
Work independently if possible by owning/operating a private treatment clinic. Highly dysfunctional field and organizations saturated with incompetent leadership/Management. Brace yourself for much confusion and misdirection. Follow the rules and do not think independently or you may find yourself resigning quickly as many CDP's do. This is a highly transient industry, meaning the CDP turnover rate is terribly high. I have held 8 different positions at 8 different locations in my 11 years as a CDP. I am currently obtaining my masters degree to transition into social work. I personally have witnessed enough of the this and am ready to move on, work for myself. Good luck!
