Job Description for Coding Supervisor

Coding supervisors work within hospitals and medical offices and are responsible for coordinating and managing the medical coding staff. Those in this position often work on teams with other office personnel and medical staff and generally work traditional business hours, though this may greatly vary depending on the organization. An associate's degree may be a minimum requirement for this position, and a bachelor's degree is often preferred with specialized experience in medical coding. Knowledge of HIPAA and other legal regulations is also required, and ongoing education may be necessary.
