A crew leader supervises a section or crew for his or her organization. They are the first line of management for crew members, and they are responsible for handling disciplinary manners (which may include escalating issues to higher-level management). The crew leader is often the most technically experienced member of the crew. By putting the crew leader in charge of training and oversight, lower-level workers can complete tasks that would otherwise be assigned to higher skilled members of the organization; those higher skilled members can subsequently focus on more complex tasks that ordinary workers may not be qualified to complete.
