Job Description for District Operations Manager
The district operations manager oversees the normal day-to-day operation of the district with which they are tasked. They serve as a resource for the operations managers within their assigned district, and they are required to perform regular (usually weekly) check-ins and evaluations of performance. The district operations manager also creates budget guidelines for their subordinate operations managers and help to increase the financial efficiency with which each manager operates. The district manager should create and establish both short-term and long-term goals for all operational units and subordinate managers, as well as periodically evaluate the progress that has been made working toward those goals.Read More...
For this position, the work environment is predominately indoors in an office setting, although some outdoor work may be required. District managers generally must travel to different operations sites several times a week,and must have reliable transportation. The district operations manager reports directly to the regional operations director and is a liaison between line managers and the regional operations manager. This position is generally a first shift job, but the district operations manager is required to be available for communication and response in the event of sensitive situations or emergencies.
A bachelor's degree in business management (or a related field) or at least five years of operations management with strong references is required. The district operations manger should have strong experience with data entry, word processing, and drafting budgets.
