A food safety specialist, commonly known as a "food inspector," is responsible for assessing and monitoring food quality and safety for the public. These specialists may work in a variety of environments, including food labs, offices, restaurants, grocery stores, and places where food is manufactured. Food Safety Specialist Tasks
- Work with individual growers, vendors, suppliers, harvesters, transporters, and cooling and storage operators to provide technical support and verify compliance with food safety practices.
- Provide management with summaries and trend analysis of food safety tests.
- Implement management plans to correct areas of noncompliance.
- Conduct workplace safety evaluations and identify areas of improvement.
- Audit operations of related partners.
