An information assurance engineer will oversee the storing and processing of information within a company to make sure that it is secure. The engineer may provide consulting services to various companies or may work directly for one company. The engineer should also be able to detect any potential risks that are present, in order to minimize potential data breaches. Period risk assessments should be carried out by the engineer. This will involve looking over data practices and data logs and detecting any irregularities or hazards that might exist.
