Job Description for Patient Services Coordinator

Patient services coordinators perform a variety of tasks related to handling patients and any relevant paperwork. In their day-to-day work, the patient services coordinator is responsible for greeting, screening, and transporting patients to the scanning room. They are also in charge of handling the patient’s paperwork, as well as making sure the patient understands what each test does and when results will be available. Patient services coordinators also answer questions about exams, ensure patients are comfortable, and enter relevant patient information into the computer systems. These coordinators also perform administrative duties, serving as a receptionist, answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, and maintaining equipment and a supply inventory.
