Job Description for Press Operator

Press operators' primary function is to safely and efficiently use a press to perform printing-related tasks required by their employer. It is essential for the press operator to have an excellent understanding of the machinery and be able identify tool wear or damage to prevent further issues. The press operator is also in charge of performing equipment setup and minor maintenance such as lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments. They update the press history sheet to ensure that any changes or adjustments are noted. When there is an issue or something does not seem correct, the press operator must know when and how to stop equipment and ask for clarification on the procedure or product. After each product is finished, the press operator should examine it to ensure the work was done properly. These professionals generally work full time in a factory environment.
