Job Description for Sales Administrator

Sales administrators give clerical support to the sales team. They perform a number of duties focusing on customer satisfaction and coordinating sales team activities. They track reports, file invoices, forward phone calls, greet customers, schedule appointments, follow up on sales calls, and help make sales. They also handle light bookkeeping responsibilities. Sales administrators often act as a link between the customer and the sales team. In that capacity, their duties include preparing multiple types of sales documents and producing related reports. When the sales team is out of the office, sales administrators manage their schedules and create proposals and other needed sales documents. This position primarily works in an office setting during regular business hours; however, overtime may be required during a peak or busy season.
