Sales and marketing analysts must be able to recognize seasonal demands and provide forecasts for production managers or procurement staff, and some attend operational planning meetings on a regular basis. These analysts should be experienced with applications and software such as Retail Link, Network Information, CRM, or Target Partners Online, and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs may also be necessary. The ability to use Excel is important to create pivot tables and formulas related to sales and marketing, and PowerPoint may be used to conduct presentations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important in this position, and they must also be organized and able to meet tight deadlines. They should also be able to multitask, pay close attention to detail, and work independently as well as in a team environment.
