Using reports and input from sales, distribution, advertising, and marketing departments, the senior strategy manager creates long-term plans to present branded goods and services to consumers They look at various costs and expenses involved, as well as forecast expected revenues. As a senior manager, the strategy manager normally has a department with subordinates that directly report to them, including junior strategy team members and data collectors.
Because so much of the strategy manager's job involves not only new initiatives, but adjusting or sunsetting existing strategies as well, a person in this position must have a strong background in finance, marketing, and distribution.
