Job Description for Senior Executive Assistant

A senior executive assistant serves as an assistant to one or more of the executive officers of an organization or company, such as the president, chief executive officer (CEO), chief financial officer (CFO), or members of the board of directors. The senior executive assistant completes a variety of tasks that executives may not have time to do; these responsibilities differ greatly based on the organization's specialties and mission. These tasks may include setting up large meetings or conference calls, managing the schedule and calendar of the executive, and screening and taking calls for the executive. In many cases, this individual's work may also include handling sensitive or confidential information; in this case, the senior executive assistant must exercise restraint and tact. This position may also require writing, developing, and sending correspondence for the executive.
