Job Description for Timekeeper

Timekeepers are responsible for maintaining, updating, and monitoring employee work schedules, as well as approving and overseeing payroll. They are required to create a system of weekly monitoring for employee work-time, usually through a system of time sheets, punch cards, or I.D. verification, and then compile and submit this data for weekly or biweekly payroll. These time records must also account for paid sick days, vacation, and overtime, and timekeepers are also tasked with noticing and correcting any timekeeping errors committed by other employees in the company, such as clock-in errors or misrepresentations of hours worked.
