Job Description
People with the job title 3d Artist typically fall into one of the following PayScale standard occupations.
Design and construct three-dimensional art works, using materials such as stone, wood, plaster, and metal and employing various manual and tool techniques.
Create special effects, animation, or other visual images using film, video, computers, or other electronic tools and media for use in products or creations, such as computer games, movies, music videos, and commercials.

If you're young and just starting out, don't be the annoying person that thinks they know it all -- even if there are "senior" level people who you believe you can be doing the same quality of work, play into your role. Be humble, be thankful, and always offer to help. All in all though, put in the hours and always keep progressing your skill. Have an open communication with your Lead and Art Director, and don't bring anything unprofessional to public meetings. This is a professional environment...
