Residential Real Estate Appraisers in the United States tend to be well-versed in their field, and a little over a half have more than 10 years of experience. Average salary is expected to be around $52K annually, but may range from $31K to $101K per year. Career duration is the biggest factor affecting pay for this group, followed by geography. Health benefits are not enjoyed by everyone in this line of work, and nearly two in five lack any coverage at all. Medical benefits are reported by the greater part and dental coverage is claimed by just under a half. Job Description for Real Estate Appraiser, Residential

A residential real estate appraiser assesses homes' values for loan, tax, insurance, and other purposes. The appraiser evaluates single-family homes, land, and condominiums, among other residential properties. To obtain an objective and accurate valuation for property, the appraiser needs examine factors such as the history of the property, market trends, an in-person assessment of its condition, and the selling prices of similar homes in the area. After the appraisal has been carried out, the appraiser makes a report documenting the evidence for their valuation; these documents are then given to the appropriate parties, such as the appraiser's manager, a bank, and/or the customer intending to purchase the home.

Survey participants with less than five years' experience pocket $42K on average, but those with five to 10 years of experience enjoy a much bigger median of $52K. On average, Residential Real Estate Appraisers make $59K following one to two decades on the job. Veterans who have surpassed the 20-year mark may make only slightly more than those who are navigating the mid-career stage; the more senior group reports median earnings of around $62K.
