Graduates of Case Western go into the medical device manufacturing industry, clinical care, and the health care services industry, not to mention a variety of other lines of work. A large chunk of former Case Western students are employed in the health care industry; in fact, this is the most popular job sector for this population. Starting salaries of $71K are the median among Case Western grads.


There is a sizable difference between men's post-college salaries and women's: the median for the former is $79K, but the median for the latter is only approximately $64K.


Case Western grads who become Software Developers are compensated well above average — these folks are top-earners among their graduating class, making an average around $100K yearly. Also notably well-paid are Software Engineers and Process Engineers; their salaries approach $70K and $63K, respectively. Mental Health Therapists pick up about $37K in financial rewards, representing the lowest-paid position among alumni.


Upon earning their degrees, many Case Western grads prefer to remain in Cleveland; in fact, one in three grads appreciate the area so much that they find permanent jobs there. In addition, former Case Western students often head to San Francisco, Calif. after graduating, where the median salary comes to around $135K in this top-paying city. For comparison, the lowest-paying city popular with Case Western alumni is Columbus, Ohio, which offers a median salary of about $61K. Graduates of Case Western also relocate to Akron, Ohio, which is not far away, and Denver, Colo.

Degree Major

Financial compensation is highest for Case Western grads with a medical degree (average earnings climb to $176K per year). On the other end of the spectrum, those with a B.A. in Computer Science (CS) tend to do the worst in terms of salary, making an average $46K per year.


Case Western Reserve University grads with C++ abilities can expect to make 32 percent more than their former classmates ($94K). Many Case Western grads have knowledge of Project Management, with around a sixth of alumni using this program on the clock. Competency in Engineering Design, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Excel also warrants excellent remuneration.

Benefits and Perks

Just under half of the survey participants report receiving paid vacation days, but just one-third of alumni are paid for sick leave. Most graduates set aside retirement funds in an employer-sponsored 401(k). Health benefits extend to most survey participants, and a fair number of respondents also receive dental coverage. Case Western Reserve University alumni are rewarded with additional benefits, such as life insurance, a casual working environment, tuition reimbursement, and a company-subsidized cell phone.
