For comparison, the lowest-paying city popular with IIT alumni is Atlanta, Ga., which offers a median salary of approximately $65K. Other cities of interest include New York, N.Y. and San Francisco, Calif.

Degree Major

IIT students with a Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Jurisprudence, or Master of Law (LLM) can expect to make the most money ($144K on average per year) compared to their fellow graduates. Those with a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) face salaries on the lower end, coming in at an average $42K per year.


Proficiency in Project Management is common among IIT alumni, and when it comes to using it on the job, about a fifth of former students report doing so. Illinois Institute of Technology grads with C# abilities can expect to make 10 percent more than their former classmates (around $85K). Demonstrated ability in Engineering Design, AutoCAD, and Java rank among leading skills as well.
