It is quite common for IIT grads — a demographic that scores high on the SATs — to earn top-notch salaries in the workforce. Those with a degree from IIT make an average of around $84K.

Men might be more likely to graduate from this school than women, given the 3 to 1 male-to-female ratio of survey respondents.

A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (ME) leads to the highest pay for IIT grads (around $106K on average per year). Those holding a Master of Science (MS), Computer Science (CS) are less fortunate in terms of earnings, bringing in $62K on average per year.

Benefits and Perks

Benefits include paid time off, but vacation days are more heavily handed out than sick days; just over two-fifths of graduates report receiving the former, but only one-third of alumni report receiving the latter. Health coverage is awarded to most alumni, and dental insurance is issued to most former students as well. Most alums plan for retirement by taking advantage of a company-sponsored 401(k) program. Illinois Institute of Technology alumni are also on the receiving end of life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, tuition reimbursement, and gym / health club / fitness membership.
