Degree Major

A Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering (EE) leads to the highest pay for La Tech grads ($124K on average per year). A Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management is less advantageous in terms of earnings; alums with this degree are the lowest earners with a median annual pay of about $40K.


Competency in Operations Management translates into above-average pay for former Bulldogs — they earn 47 percent more than their fellow graduates. Nearly one-sixth of grads report using Project Management as part of their job, making it the most popular skill. In addition, those who are savvy in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Engineering Design are also considered highly skilled.

Benefits and Perks

Paid time off due to illness is less common here than paid vacation time, slightly less than a third of alums report receiving the former, whereas just half of the alumni report receiving the latter. Health coverage is awarded to most former students, and dental insurance is issued to a strong majority of graduates as well. Most survey participants participate in a 401(k) program. Additional benefits handed to Louisiana Tech University alumni include life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, a casual working environment, and tuition reimbursement.
