Former Monarchs who fare the best in terms of salary hold a Doctorate (PhD) and earn a median salary of approximately $96K per year. Ranking last in the compensation department are those holding a Bachelor of Science in Communication — their annual income amounts to $36K on average.


Former Monarchs with SQL abilities can expect to make 50 percent more than their former classmates (around $89K). Microsoft Office is a popular skill among ODU alumni, with close to one-tenth of grads reporting using it on the job. Microsoft Excel, Project Management, and Customer Service are among other dominant skills.

Benefits and Perks

Just two-fifths of alumni enjoy paid vacation and merely one-third of alumni get paid sick time. A strong majority of former students have medical plans, and a strong majority of graduates have dental insurance. A strong majority of alumni report contributing to a 401(k).
