Job Description for Fitness Instructor

A fitness instructor uses safe and proven training methods help individuals reach their fitness goals. The individual should be able to adapt their training programs to meet the different and varied needs of each client. In addition to having the motivation and enthusiasm to help the client reach their goals, the trainer should also have a large, relevant technical background. This background should include knowledge of a wide variety of exercises that target each individual muscle and muscle group. This must include proper form and technique to prevent injury, as well as to ensure safe performance by clients when unsupervised. In addition to a strong foundation in fitness, a fitness instructor must possess a strong background in nutrition.
