Job Description for Lead Hand Carpenter
Lead hand carpenters are tasked with framing, finishing and conducting project labor for patios, interiors, and home exteriors; project labor can include installations, custom carpentry, plumbing, framing, and electrical tasks. Daily tasks of lead hand carpenters include reading project plans, measuring, conducting construction, participating in team meetings, driving across sites, supervising contractors, and meeting with architects and clients. Daily paperwork must be filled out, and carpenters must be available for scheduled inspections. Lead hand carpenters are also required to manage a schedule, several subcontractors, and materials. Usually, lead hand carpenters have at least five years of experience in a related role. A high school diploma or equivalent is needed as well.
