Job Description for Conference Coordinator

Conference coordinators help set up conferences and provide administrative support on-site. Their duties may include coordinating conference speakers, managing conference staff, managing hotel or on-site materials for the conference, and overseeing technical requirements for the conference (such as audio and visual equipment). They also oversee the production and content of the conference program book, as well as pitch advertising and sponsorships for the conferences. Conference coordinators also perform office activities, such as taking inbound calls, responding to voice mails, emailing responses to inquiries, and using copiers and scanners to produce items related to inquiries. These professionals generally work in an office setting, although travel is frequently required to complete pre-conference tasks and provide on-site support as the conference occurs.
