Sales support specialists are responsible for providing support during the sales process. They help customers resolve sales-related issues in a timely manner, generally providing real-time support. Specialists also escalate issues as necessary to supervisors or other department in their organization. They update records for customer interactions, assist with non-standard requests such as legacy customer support, and provide solutions across platforms for products or services.Read More...
Sales support specialists also maintain sales databases, including through removing unusable data. They create lists of potential clients and share their results with their department. Sales support specialists ensure accuracy of contracts about pricing details, and they may be the main point of contact for field representatives. One of their main responsibilities include tracking sales orders and aiding with shipping issues.
A high school diploma is necessary for this job. In addition, previous experience in a sales-related capacity may be preferred. These specialists must work well with other specialists in a team environment, but also perform efficiently by themselves. At all times, they should conduct themselves professionally as a liaison between their organization and external customers.
