Scheduling managers typically work in manufacturing plants and factories. They manage and direct the workflow in the plant, making them a primary point of contact for logistics in their company. The scheduling manager works out manufacturing schedules for to ensure the organization has the workforce necessary to execute the manufacturing plan; they also work with materials departments to ensure the necessary parts and raw materials required are available. Because too much or too little labor, or too much or too few supplies, can cause a great deal of wasted money, a good scheduling manager may be integral to good company performance.
