Medtronic, Inc. Reviews

What is it like working at Medtronic, Inc.?

Challenging but fulfilling.
Technical Writer in Jacksonville:
Pros: I'm contributing to the healthcare field, helping people around the world, with my expertise in language and writing. I don't need a degree in medicine or science to make a difference in this field.
Cons: Some of the engineers think you know as much as them about the technical components of the devices, so you have to remind them that is not your expertise. Also, busyness is like a wave. Sometimes you have nothing to work on. Sometimes you have four manuals translated in 29 languages (so 116 documents) you are responsible for and the team decides to make a last minute change so you have to send for re-translations for the third time.
Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer in Miami Lakes:
Pros: Mission & purpose, work-life balance, stability, overall company culture.
Cons: Remuneration equity and corporate politics.
Great place to work.
Research Scientist in Minneapolis:
Pros: People are very bright and motivated to impact patients' lives.
Cons: I believe I am not being compensated fairly.
Great place to work.
Biomedical Engineer in Minneapolis:
Pros: Great people and mission-driven work.
Cons: I believe I'm not being compensated fairly.
Satisfied but taken for granted.
Principal Electrical Engineer in Minneapolis:
Pros: Opportunity to learn new medical device tech
Cons: Schedule, Schedule, Schedule
Intense.
Administrative Assistant in Vaud:
Pros: the flexi-hours - the traveling for events - world's most admired company
Cons: some colleagues like everywhere else - unrealistic pressure and stress
Business Analyst, IT in Eden Prairie:
Company is great to work with. They work with you provide career growth and excellent work life balance. When situations come up management has been very understandable. Benefits are a lot better then benefits I've seen at other companies.
