Microsoft Corp Reviews

What is it like working at Microsoft Corp?

Always Learning and Challenging.
Cloud Solutions Architect in Dallas:
Pros: The people are great and all very smart, tons of opportunity to learn from a resource perspective as well as a business opportunity perspective. Good benefits as well.
Cons: There's a good amount of pressure to continually learn and train to keep up with the industry and my colleagues. Everyone is very intelligent - I have to try that much harder to stand out (for my own ego), but Microsoft has created a culture of "team-based" contribution incentive goals to help ease some of the individual competition.
Loads of benefits at what is sometimes the largest company in the world.
Software Developer in Bellevue:
Pros: Impact of work is tremendous; relations with other large companies and millions of dollars are at stake at any moment
Cons: Long hours, especially as part of servicing
SK.
Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE):
Pros: Excellent work. Good benefits. Decent pay. Less commute.
Cons: Bureaucracy. Politics.
Excellent corporation, benefits and work environment.
Executive Assistant:
Pros: The pay and benefits are definitely above average, the work environment is casual and telecommuting is mostly always an option. I was lucky enough to be paid hourly based on a yearly salary and therefore got overtime.
Cons: Not much of a work-life balance. Lots of work but I think that's to be expected since customers/clients/contacts are global.
Principal Software Engineer:
Pros: Work on challenging projects that change the world.
Cons: Managing expectations can be difficult.
Great place to work.
Project Manager, Information Technology (IT):
Pros: Love it!
Cons: Under contract not an FTE.
Working from home, high level of coworker competance.
Senior Program Manager (Unspecified Type / General):
Pros: Competence of co workers, learning opportunities, working from home.
Cons: Interdepartmental cooperation.
