Microsoft Corp Reviews
What is it like working at Microsoft Corp?
Software Engineer in Redmond:
While the projects are frequently interesting and many of your coworkers will be great to work with, the quickly declining work life balance and poor pay (compared to the local competitors) make it difficult to want to continue to work here. HR continues to have problems with handling employee issues and has been terrible at hiring since I joined with no signs of progress.
"Hope you like meetings!"
Marketing Director in Seattle:
Pros: Driving consumer creative
Cons: Office politics
"Good but underpaid."
Marketing Manager in Dublin:
Pros: Management of own time and accountability - not micromanaged, flexibility and remote working
Software Engineer in Eugene:
Pros: I love all the employees and my manager is nice and so encouraging that he pushes me to the best that I can be,
Cons: The paperwork
"Great company, brilliant people but not for everyone."
Program Manager, Marketing in Kent:
Pros: Interesting parallels into the product market and special projects.
Cons: contract personnel is not paid at market pricing.
"Cloud support Azure."
Senior Technical Support Engineer in Bucharest:
Pros: Opportunities to learn
Cons: Very hard leveling system and merit increase. It looks like outsiders are valued more than an experienced engineer with +2 years experience in the company. It doesn't really matter that much how much experienced a candidate has been before since once he will land within a Microsoft role, he/she will still have to go through the processes of learning the tools, microsoft products and the cultural thinking. Managers and HR often consider the age, experience of a candidate through which they offer "competitive" salaries which are often higher than what a senior engineer is awarded
"Phenomenal place to work."
Principal Product Manager in Bellevue:
Pros: As an employee, you are given significant opportunities for impact and rewarded well. Employees are highly valued.
Cons: The hours and working with time zones in Asia.
