The day-to-day responsibilities of the eCommerce/web business manager include developing and implementing strategies for brand development, budget creation and management, as well as creating and monitoring key performance metrics. They are also tasked with ensuring all online information is current and accurate, and the display and presentation of products within the eCommerce space is of high quality. This position typically is full time, although additional hours may be required as deadlines approach or urgent situations emerge. A majority of time is spent in the office, though some outside travel to customer locations may be required.
eCommerce/web business manager positions generally require a minimum of a high school degree of equivalent. A bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing management, or a related field is preferred, and experience in eCommerce marketing is required. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills are a must, and strong knowledge of standard imaging and design software is a plus. These managers must possess excellent time-management skills and must be able to work on multiple projects at a time.
