The front office coordinator generally works in an office setting during regular business hours. Their coworkers include their supervisor and other front desk staff. Extensive interactions with clients also take place on a daily basis; for example, a front office coordinator at a dental office greets patients, informs the dentist of their arrival, and guides clients back to the room in which they will be seen, among other duties.
A high school diploma or equivalent is generally the minimum educational requirement for this position, although an associate's or bachelor's degree may be preferred. Previous experience in a similar role is required as well. Front desk coordinators must have excellent communication skills, be excellent multitaskers, and have proficiency with basic computer software.
