A practice administrator takes care of the daily activities of a medical facility. Part of their responsibility is ensuring the facility is properly staffed by recruiting physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and non-medical staff. The practice administrator is also responsible for negotiating contracts with medical supply companies and pharmaceutical companies to ensure that their facility has necessary supplies. They also may manage the advertising budget. Most of the time, practice administrators work in an office setting but sometimes travel is necessary to meet with potential vendors or other prospective business partners.
