Job Description for Senior Director, Operations

Senior directors of operations work in a number of fields and may oversee the operations of one or more locations or departments of a business or company. They typically work with other managers to set the vision and goals for the future of the company, and audits may be carried out to ensure that certain results are accomplished.

Senior directors of operations conduct periodic assessments of future needs and opportunities, as well as challenges faced by the organization, and some work is done in an office environment while some work takes place in the field to gain better insight on operations. Because this is a senior position, many years of leadership experience within the field are usually required, and they may also screen and hire employees and ensure that staffing levels are adequate for the services provided by the company.
