Job Description for User Experience Director
User experience directors are in charge of overseeing user experience features for software on behalf of their organization. They are responsible for facilitating communication among user experience professionals, as well as helping design products and/or applications using customer feedback and market trends. One of this director's main duties includes creating an engaging user experience to increase customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. They develop design specifications using diagrams and other visual aids, as well as collaborate with internal teams to form cohesive concepts for release. User experience directors must lead a team to meet all project objectives and deadlines, providing training and mentorship to user experience designers. They also help define and recommend changes to design characteristics, strive to build strong business relationships with industry vendors, and define and prioritize schedules for future releases. They manage expenses and budget allocation for their department as well. User experience directors must identify possible usability obstacles and work with their team to find innovative solutions to minimize their impact.
Extensive work with user experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field are generally required for this position. Leadership, communication, and business skills are generally needed as well.
