A gender wage gap becomes apparent after college, with female graduates earning only approximately $60K on average compared to $75K for male graduates.

Though Malvern, Pa. takes the cake for lowest pay among SJU grads (the median salary is $55K there), it remains a common destination for former students. Graduates also relocate to New York, N.Y. and Washington, DC.

Degree Major

SJU grads who hold a Master of Science (MS), Business Intelligence can expect to fare better than most fellow alumni, earning an average $176K per year. Graduates holding a Bachelor of Business (BB) fare the worst in terms of compensation with an average yearly salary of approximately $43K.


Close to one-sixth of grads report using Microsoft Excel as part of their job, making it the most popular skill. For former Hawks, proficiency in Strategic Planning warrants a paycheck that is 47 percent more than other alumni salaries. Project Management, Data Analysis, and Microsoft Office are desirable skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

Just one in three grads enjoy paid vacation and merely one-fifth of alumni get paid sick time. Benefits are rather generous for graduates of this school; most alums are rewarded with health insurance and a fair number of former students report dental coverage, too. To plan for old age, a large number of former students maintain savings accounts through a company's 401(k) plan. Additional benefits handed to Saint Joseph's University alumni include a casual working environment, a company-subsidized cell phone, life insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
