Editor Reviews

Q: What is it like working as an Editor?

Editor in Halifax:
"Editor of a Community Newspaper."
Pros: I like connecting people with local businesses, organizations, and other people in the community. I like the community paper's notion that it's important to spread Good News as a means to make our neighbors proud of the place where they live, and often, where they grew up. The advertising done is for local businesses, and that's highly tolerable to me, because we should know what the local shops and services are currently offering, and support the economy of the community. I like interviewing people for my "People of the Community" column, and of course, my column about birds.
Cons: Often there's a lot of emailing and sometimes deadlines - especially when they're not met by people you're waiting for - can be stressful.
