Job Description for Cargo and Freight Agent

A cargo and freight agent helps customers ship various goods through air, flight and sea transportation. The agent helps individual customers or companies that need help related to transportation logistics, assisting them in choosing a shipping method that will best suit their budget, needs and time constraints. As the shipment moves from one location to another, the agent follows up with customers to provide updates and attempt to remedy slow shipping situations as needed. The agent may work with methods of transportation based within their company and/or with third parties to meet customers' transportation needs.
