These directors must develop framework objectives with strict timelines for delivery and must be organized and multitask on a variety of projects at once. They also cooperate and share data with internal managers to implement different enterprise and architecture features for increased productivity and efficiency and strive to minimize use of company resources while increasing functionality.
The main responsibilities of enterprise architecture directors include performing research on current enterprise features, costs, and expenses, utilizing modern tools to implement solutions keeping records of enterprise road-maps, initiatives, and performance measures, conducting prototype development processes, and using technical tools to measure outcomes. These directors also manage changes in data and business models to streamline processes.
They generally report their progress to the enterprise vice president in their company and may mentor and participate in training sessions for updated tools/equipment or for educating personnel on their benefits and capabilities. These individuals work in fast-paced environments and use their problem-solving skills to identify and propose solutions to enterprise processes which can be improved.
A Bachelor's degree in a field related to enterprise architecture, management, or business application is required for this position, and previous years of work experience in a directing capacity can be helpful. Industry and leadership certifications are also beneficial.
