Logistics planning managers must be able to effectively prioritize projects and deliver planning strategies under strict deadlines. Their main duties also include analyzing and recommending new logistics-related strategies, as well as working to eliminate the root causes of recurring issues that raise costs or reduce services for their organization and customers. They also manage relationships and negotiate rates with vendors and external partners. Logistics planning managers also develop and evaluate standard operating procedures, rules, and processes to enhance communication, transfer information, and produce results.
A bachelor's degree and related experience are generally required for this position.
