Radiography Technologist Job Description

People with the job title Radiography Technologist typically fall into one of the following PayScale standard occupations.

Radiologic Technologists

Operate radiograph equipment to produce x-rays of the body for diagnostic purposes under direction of a physician. Explain procedure to patient, position and immobilize patient on exam table and observe during scan. Monitor video display of area being scanned and adjust density or contrast to improve picture quality. Review and evaluate film to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes. Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
