Former Adelphi students are professionally suited for a wide range of fields including the banking industry, the health care services industry, and clinical care. The most popular professional field seems to be the health care industry. Starting salaries of around $61K are the median among Adelphi grads.

There is a sizable difference between men's post-college salaries and women's: the median for the former is $79K, but the median for the latter is only $57K.

The Adelphi alumni who make the most are Chief Operating Officers; they report a median pay of $275K. Senior Marketing Managers and Registered Nurses draw in a fair amount as well — $100K and about $74K, respectively. Salaries are anything but generous for MSW Social Workers, whose earnings rank lowest on the pay scale at approximately $44K.

New York, N.Y. is a hub for Adelphi graduates — a large number call this city home. Another city that attracts a wealth of Adelphi grads is Charlotte, N.C.; given its high compensation ($85K is the average salary), the city's popularity should come as no surprise. On the other end, Adelphi grads flock to Woodbury, N.Y., which actually offers the weakest median salary of $46K. Close-by Garden City, N.Y. and Melville, N.Y. are also desirable cities among Adelphi alumni.

Degree Major

A graduate with a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Finance from Adelphi can rake in a whopping average $110K per year, more than any other degree from this school. A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (CS) is less advantageous in terms of earnings; alums with this degree are the lowest earners with a median annual pay of approximately $38K.

Adelphi University grads with Budget Management experience garner salaries that are nearly double other grads' salaries. Many former Adelphi students are familiar with Project Management, and approximately one-tenth of grads move on to positions where this experience is utilized. Competency in Operations Management, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Microsoft Excel also warrants excellent remuneration.

Benefits and Perks

When it comes to benefits, there is room for improvement — only one in three grads are paid for vacation and just one in five survey participants for sick time. A fair number of respondents take advantage of a 401(k) plan. A strong majority of survey participants have medical plans, and the larger part of grads have dental insurance. Other benefits awarded to Adelphi University alumni include 403(b), life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, and a casual working environment.

Related Schools

Hofstra University graduates, who earn around $66K on average, make a similar amount to Adelphi grads. St John's University-New York, New School, and Pace University-New York are also similar to Adelphi.
