Jobs

Former SF State students with an interest in making money consider becoming Human Resources Directors, the highest-paying gig (average earnings amount to around $110K) among this alumni group. A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (CS) leads to the highest pay for SF State grads (around $125K on average per year). Those holding a Bachelor's Degree, Business Administration are less fortunate in terms of earnings, bringing in $40K on average per year.

Skills

For former Gators, proficiency in Project Management warrants a paycheck that is 47 percent more than other alumni salaries. Microsoft Excel is a popular skill among SF State alumni, with about one in seven workers reporting using it on the job. Experience with Project Management, Microsoft Office, and Customer Service is highly valued as well.

Benefits and Perks

When it comes to benefits, there is room for improvement — only two-fifths of alumni are paid for vacation and just one in three grads for sick time. Health insurance benefits extend to most grads, and a fair number of alumni sign up for dental plans. A large number of graduates plan for retirement by taking advantage of a company-sponsored 401(k) program.
