Retail department supervisors work directly with customers to ensure that customers’ expectations are met. They make sure their team is properly trained in merchandising and sales. Additionally, they set sales goals, as well as create and enact plans to ensure the company goals are being met. At times, the retail department supervisor may be in charge of answering phones, working at the front desk, or handling warehouse duties.
