In the public relations space, a common daily task is to monitor the media for any mention of clients; additionally, they help place stories about clients through media pitching and develop the content to be placed on social media. The assistant account executive also must be on the lookout for new technology and new opportunities that provide a public relations advantage to clients. Finally, the assistant account executive helps advise clients on how to appropriately pitch messages and how to mitigate negative public relations issues. Most assistant account executives work in an office environment during regular business hours. Travel may be required occasionally to meet with clients in person.
