They also update existing business plans to improve their efficacy, as well as develop long-term and short-term solutions to financial problems and issues with operational functions within the company. Directors of strategic planning generally work full time in an office setting, although overtime may be required to accommodate the wide variety of professionals with whom they work. Travel may be required to meet with vendors or representatives of other companies.
