Internet marketing specialists create content that is seen online to advertise for a business, product or service. To do this they must create content that is ranked highly by search engines, and contains as many keywords as possible that pertain to their specific product or service. An internet marketing specialist is tasked with developing/enhancing a business' online presence. This entails drawing the desired demographic to the business' website through a variety of online marketing techniques. To be successful in this, internet marketing specialists must be familiar not only with navigating the internet, but with all of the ins and outs of marketing therein.

By monitoring traffic and performance data from a web marketing campaign, internet marketing specialists are able to optimize keyword usage and search engine results, resulting in more successful future marketing campaigns or improved current marketing campaigns.
