A licensing coordinator is a person who works with a business firm and is responsible for monitoring and documenting various licenses and license renewals. This position is generally found within the insurance industry, though it can be found within a variety of other businesses for which licenses come into play.Read More...
This person will generally work within an office type of environment, and little or no travel is required. A person in this position will generally keep weekday, daytime hours. There isn't usually overtime, though it is not unheard of. A person in this position will generally require a high school diploma, and formal training in business practices are recommended. Certifications and training with various business license laws are also often required, though some firms may offer training on the job.
A licensing coordinator will have a variety of demands associated with their position, including monitoring and processing all licenses and license renewals, documenting all licenses and license renewals, completing various business license applications, researching operational licenses, assisting with the resolution of licensing issues as they arise, and maintaining current and proper knowledge of licensing practices. This position requires a person who is extremely analytical and is an expert at problem-solving. Expert organizational skills and a high attention to detail are also required. This person should also possess superb communication skills, as well as excellent computer skills, including a variety of relevant applications.
