A keen eye for detail and quality is an essential skill for product marketing director; they need to be able to not only craft appropriate messaging and positioning for a product, but also ensure the product will stand out from similar products in the marketplace. When the product is finally ready to launch the product marketing director must help ensure the launch is successful. They also need to be knowledgeable about the market in which their products exist, including potential and current competitors.
